In 1979 a small group of visionaries dared to create what has become The King’s University College in Edmonton, Alberta. What started with a handful of faculty and students has blossomed by God’s grace and provision, and the support of His faithful people, into one of the pre-eminent Christian post-secondary institutions in Canada.
And it has flourished.
For the last four years King’s has been a leader in its sector with “top of the class” grade A+ for quality of teaching in the Globe and Mail Canadian University Report. It was also named best small university in Canada by Maclean’s magazine. King’s serves almost 700 students from more than 16 nations. Faculty members are highly qualified, dedicated Christians committed to academic excellence and communicating their faith in all levels of teaching. Students can enroll in 561 different courses in 24 disciplines, with 13 majors.
One of The King’s University College’s most recent 2012 graduates is Alexandra Stratichk. She decided to join the King’s team as an Admissions Counsellor in the Enrollment Services department: “Being a student at King’s has given me much more than I could ask for. In addition to an excellent education where my Professors actually knew me as Alex, I have been given the knowledge that has also prepared me for life. I am passionate about sharing my King’s experience with future students and I would like to see more students come to King’s, particularly students from the Aboriginal community as my heritage is Metis and Ukrainian.”
Our Mission: We exist to provide university education that inspires and equips learners to bring renewal and reconciliation to every walk of life as followers of Jesus Christ, the Servant-King.
